Boron Carbide Powder (B4C)

  • Boron Carbide Synonyms:
    Black diamond, B4C, boron carbide.

  • Boron Carbide Designations:
    Chemical Name: Boron carbide

  • Chemical Formula:

  • Boron Carbide Description:
The third hardest material known. A high performance abrasive material with chemical and physical properties similar to diamonds, such as chemical resistance and hardness. Boron carbide's extra hardness gives it the nickname "black diamond". Color is black or gray.

  • Typical Boron Carbide Chemical Properties Available:
    1) General Industrial Grades Available: B + C= 94% min. (B= 77% min. & C= 17% max.) and B + C= 98% min. (B= 74% min. & C= 24% max.)
    2) Standard Grade: B= 74% min., and C= 24% max., B+C= 98% min.
